Halfway Reflection

Image
1) What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course? I have set up my calendar to notify me when I should begin working on my assignments and I try to constantly keep up with the assignments by working on them the day before they are due. 2) T alk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this? One moment where I felt like giving up was when I had two exams one week and two very difficult assignments due for this class the next day. That was probably the most difficult time for me this semester and I felt like giving up. What pulled me through was knowing that my grades would go up. I have developed a tenacious attitude because I've fought through difficult adversities and have made sacrifices throughout the semester to improve my grades. One ...

Reading Reflection Number 1

I read about Elon Musk: 1) What surprised you the most? What surprised me the most about Elon Musk was his diversification of his funds. Elon Musk invests in a lot of futuristic companies that focus on innovation, but he also invests heavily in the stock market. Another fact  that surprised me about Elon Musk is the fact that he started his own web software company. What about the entrepreneur do you most admire? What I admire most about Elon Musk are his goals to improve humanity by reducing global warming through sustainable consumptions of energy and colonizing mars. His futuristic aspirations for the world are extremely impressive and something I admire. What about the entrepreneur do you least admire? What I least admire about Musk is his influence in politics. He donates vast amount of money to lobbyist groups and to certain politicians to influence their votes. I dislike these billionaires buying elections and I think he should focus on fixing the planet, not make it m...

Figuring Out Buyer Behavior

1. My segment is the people who study environmental sciences. 2. I interviewed students who were studying environmental science at the University of Florida. 3. These students have each determined the need for renewable energy products in their homes. Since most students are from Florida, they became ecstatic at the idea of implementing solar panels on their roofs to power their homes. They want to help roll the ball for people having solar panels on their houses while protecting the planet. 4. The first thing these students did was they spoke to their parents about possibly investing in solar panels on their roofs. These solar panels would be a great investment as they would increase the property value of their home and they would also profit from the energy one day. 5. What I learned from these interviews is that while people are already using these renewable energy sources in their homes, they aren't being used as frequently. If the government increases incentives on ren...

Idea Napkin

1. My name is Franco Luis and I'm from Miami, FL. I love politics and reading the news. Some of my skills include writing and being bilingual. I see business as being vital to the foundation of the economy. It is important to have at least a general understanding of what business is. 2. I am offering a project that would create an incentive to invest in renewable forms of energy as it is the future of the economy. This would help advance people's dreams for green energy and it is the energy of the future. This would include solar and wind energy to be widespread throughout the United States of America. With investment in this industry and incentives from the government in renewable energy could lead to great profits. 3. The customers who are perfect for this project are those who have interests in investing a renewable energy system. These people would be willing to have solar panels on their roofs and would be willing to join the green revolution in the United States. All ...

Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

Five Interviews 1. In the interview I found, this freshman environmental science major loved the idea. She claimed that it was a different need from others because of how it has two uses. One being saving the planet and the other is how it helps out in a business manner. The need is different than those who request it. 2. In my second interview I met with this student government leader who thought the idea was great. He liked the need because of its effectiveness on the environment and how much people would use it. Its uses differ from others because of how important it is for the planet. The underlying cause of the outsiders needs are different from others because those already involved don't see the potential. 3. My third interview I met a senior who thought the idea would cost too much money. He didn't like it because of the extra cost of the renewable energy system and he said that if it cost too much for consumers no one would use it. Its uses wouldn't differ fro...

Solving the Problem

The problem we have identified is that there is room for investing in renewable energy but its so expensive. One product that could solve this problem is a phone case or laptop case that has small solar panels on them that can charge the device.

Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1

1) The opportunity I have identified is investing in renewable energy. 2) Investing in renewable energy is a great opportunity as it is the future of the energy economy. Governments continue subsidizing green energy and continue striving for a better environment. The who are investors in clean energy and government officials promoting these policies. The what is the fact that they are investing in renewable energy sources. The why is because governments are subsidizing them thus making them cheaper and inexpensive. 3) There is an opportunity in clean renewable energy as governments continue subsidizing it and it continues to become less expensive. 4) A. The first person I spoke to was a senior political science student here at the University of Florida. I asked her what she thought about the project and she mentioned how it was a great idea to invest in renewable sources as it'll save the planet and make money. I asked this student if she believed there would be any difficult...

Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends

1. One opportunity in the economy could be investing in renewable energy. I found this information when I was researching economic trends and every article mentioned climate change. As climate change worsens economic figures, then more people will begin investing in renewable energy. This suggests an opportunity would exist in renewable energy as governments will seek to subsidize new energy sources. The average American consumer is most likely to be the customer in this opportunity. Overtime, the problem will become easy to exploit as people will be investing in renewable energy sources. I saw this opportunity because its a market that no one really controls yet and more people will be investing in renewable sources in the future. 2. Another opportunity in the economy is investing in streaming services. I found this information when I was researching recent trends in society. The source of the information that led me to this was just researching economic trends and how society is cha...
